These beautiful plants have soft rubbery “needles” when they are young and around here do particularly well as houseplants. In their native environments the branches grow into some very beautiful and unique upward sweeping shapes!

The scientific name heterophylla actually means “different leaves” which refers o both of the unusual shape of their leaves and the difference in shape between the young and fully mature leaves.
